***MARCH 4: MEDIA TELEBRIEFING For EU Reporters***

LAWSUIT SEEKS TO REMOVE FOREST BIOMASS FROM EU’S
RENEWABLE ENERGY DIRECTIVE

Applicants from six different countries will file a lawsuit against the European Union for ignoring the science on forest bioenergy and promoting false climate solutions

WHAT:

On March 4, 2019 the Center for Climate Integrity will host a media telebriefing to discuss a landmark climate lawsuit being filed that same day against the European Union.

The call will feature three of the European plaintiffs, as well as Peter Lockley, the plaintiffs’ legal counsel, and Mary Booth, PhD, the lead science advisor on the case. They will discuss the case as well as forest, climate, and human health impacts from forest biomass harvesting and combustion in Europe and North America.

Peter Lockley, legal counsel for plaintiffs
Plaintiffs: Tony Lowes (Ireland), Raul Cazan (Romania), Peter Sabo (Slovakia)
